How do I know if my 99 Dodge Dakota got a bad shock? What kind of fluids the shock leak? Are they important?

How do I know if my 99 Dodge Dakota got a bad shock? What kind of fluids the shock leak? Are they important?|||you,ll notice a slight oil leak coming form the shaft of the shock if its bad, and you can do the bounce test on it and if it bounces over three times it has a bad shock on it,if its busted it needs to be replaced, good luck.|||Fluid does not leak if you have a bad shock. if you wanna check to see if your shocks are good, push down on the bumper of you car.

Example: If you think the left front shock is bad, push down on that corner of the car. If the shock is bad, it will be easy to push the body of your car towards the ground, and when you let go the body of the car to let it come back up and it "bounces" back into place, that's a pretty good sign that you have a bad shock. If it's good, and you push down on the bumper, it will feel stiff and kinda hard to do and it won't have as much "bounce" to it.

Check all 4 corners of your car and get a feel for it...

..or just take it into a shop and get it checked.|||if they wet in any way they bad if you got more than 60,000 miles they bad if you can bounce or jump up and down on bumper and it bounces more than once or twice after you stop they bad most of all if its wet its bad
