What problems are typical with a used dodge truck?

Im interested in buying a used dodge 1500 i saw on the side of the road. What i want to know is if a used dodge tends to have engine, transmission, or any other problems after alot of use.|||I would first have to ask you how used...but most importantly with dodge if your looking at anything built since the company changed hands then ur prob gonna find that theres always something to work on, you might be a little better off with the turcks then you would be with the rest of the dodge vehicles because they have a differnet standard but you can still expect the issues that have come with the penny pinching attitude of the new german owners and that means stupid basic wireing and transmission problems and other little things that were overlooked like undersized brakes on big heavy vehicles that will go bad after a very short peroid of time or low quality engine parts like hoses/spark plugs exc that cause little issues.|||same as any other vehicle, a dodge isn't no different than anything else made,you,ll have more problems from a dodge if it wasn't maintained right,some people think that because it says dodge on it that its bullit proof,its not it will cause problems like any other vehicle will,most likely the transmission will be the first thing to give problems,if you buy one be prepared to spend money on it.|||i own one i love it only wish it was 5spd though because i love to spin around and stuff my truck has 213,000 miles on it still runs strong the only thing u realy got to worry about in them is transmision u can tell if ones bad or not by driving it seing if it shifts ruff or not dodge truck motors are known to last dodge transmission is all in how it is driven if u drive ruff i sugest puting stp in it makes it shift beter and stuff only 2 to $5 a bottle put it in every other time u get gas saves u gas to|||I have a dodge truck and i have problems with the transmission. I have read quite a few forums online and it seems there is alot of problems with the trans on the dodges|||Reliability and long life are the biggest problems. They never wear out so you don't have an excuse to tell your wife so you can buy a new one.|||What year, engine and transmission?
